Kop Hill Climb are delighted to announce that we have TV presenter Fuzz Townshend from National Geographic’s hit show Car SOS joining us for the weekend of 21st & 22nd September.
Not only will Fuzz be bringing along some of his cars for display and to run The Hill, but he will also be assisting our younger motoring fans at the Soapbox Challenge, where he will be giving a helping hand in the newly constructed Soapbox Garage to keep the hand-built karts running.
“I am really excited about coming along to help” Fuzz explains, “I know all about the event; the rich history and the amazing amount of money Kop Hill Climb raises for local charities and I have been trying to get here for a number of years, but work commitments have never allowed it, so I am very pleased to be able to come along to support the 10th anniversary”.
Fuzz is looking forward to taking a run up The Hill and join the roster of famous names to have run it including the likes of greats of the day; Malcolm Campbell in BlueBird, Raymond Mays in his Bugatti, Henry Seagrave in his Sunbeam and Count Zborowski in his 8 cylinder Ballot, who were regular competitors.
“The thing I am really looking forward to though” Fuzz continues “is getting stuck in with the fantastic crew from Hill Climb Garage helping the young engineers who have built these amazing Soapbox karts – some of the work that has gone into them is nothing short of incredible. These youngsters are the future of the automotive industry and I am looking forward to helping them keep their karts racing over the weekend. Who knows – I may even learn a thing or two from them!”
